I’m Sofia,

a multi-disciplinary artist.
I unravel myself though the poetry of sounds, colours and words. Being an artist means to me the most sincere way of living. Crystalline. I’m an artist by default. I never questioned or doubted it. It just as natural as breathing. I’m on a constant quest for searching the most exact and the most truthful way of communicating with the world through various outlets. With no filters, no excuses, no boundaries of any kind. I feel, speak and remember through music; I celebrate and rejoice through paintings and photography; I cherish and express gratitude to my feminine nature through henna body painting; and I speak my deepest truth with poems… I feel so alive when creating art. I become real, like a photo that reveals itself in the red lights of the darkroom…. I become me.

My unique bouquet of talents and skills, that I’ve been honing since being a child, gives it all a distinct flavour. I believe that just like anyone else I have my special kind of magic…

I am a synesthetic artist. Visual and audio sensations are interconnected: I see music and hear paintings… It is a mesmerising dance of lines, sounds, words and colours… and I’m just a tool. I never force it, yet I just let it flow through me and try to capture the beauty that unfolds in front of my eyes. A sheer joy..

I’m a

composer, singer, producer who works in the field of ambient, field recording, modern classical music, dream-indie-pop, downtempo, electronic sound design and archetypal pre-folk; classically trained pianist sometimes playing ukulele;
henna artist who does rituals for women to embrace their feminine nature
painter with the academic background who focuses on expressive abstract impressionistic sceneries with elements of realism
passionate photographer with minimalistic aesthetics and an eye for beauty. I love helping people gain confidence by photographing them.
poet, who writes lyrics, poems for music pieces and just bare poems in English and Russian.

MY MISSION

I want to make this world a better place.

You see a picture that makes you feel loved and cozy at home;

or maybe it’s a song and the sound is so piercingly beautiful that it makes you cry… I think this are the moments when we see the spark of the Divine, and it resonates with the Divine within us. It makes us better people. No matter what kind of genre you’re a fan of, but it’s there for you, it heals, it empowers us when we feel weak; it brings up our deepest sadness to release the tension that’s been building up for some time…. or it makes you smile even when you think that nothing can make you smile… It creates authentic emotions and brings you closer to yourself. Closer to your heart’s truth. Which is -

MY STORY & BACKGROUND

Often, when asked about my origin, I stumble, because I am from everywhere. Sometimes I answer ‘Ukrainian’, as I was born there. My mom comes from Siberia so it makes me Russian to some extent. My grandmothers were of Polish and Czech heritage. And their ancestors came from Greece and Lithuania. My surname is German... My grandfather was Mongolian looking man. Part of my family lives in France.

Now. I live in Czech republic and no matter what’s written in my passport - I am cosmopolitan.

When I was 5-6 years old my parents took me to the dance school, art studio and also introduced me to piano lessons.

That’s where it all was put into motion. And while my peers dreamt of becoming a teacher or something else, I wanted to become a composer, a dancer, a painter and a poet - all of it. Often when asked to choose - I didn’t understand, how you can choose one thing? It’s all the same just expressed through different outlet. Like writing with a blue or black pencil… the essence is writing and the tools are secondary.

Just trying to keep myself sharp and ready to be of use, because my work is my calling & my calling is my passion…
